Privacy
Reading this site requires no account and leaves no identifier on your device. This page describes what is recorded, why, and for how long.
The short version
- Cookies
- None. We set no cookies of any kind, including on the outbound redirect.
- Third-party analytics
- None. No analytics script, advertising pixel or social widget runs on these pages.
- Accounts
- The public site has none. There is nothing to sign up for.
- IP addresses
- Used momentarily to filter automated traffic, then discarded. Not stored in our click records.
- Selling data
- Never. There is no audience data here to sell, which is the point.
When you click an affiliate link
Outbound commercial links pass through our own redirect so we can tell which article produced a sale. At that moment we record which link was used, which article and topic it sat on, the referring page, the browser’s user-agent string, a coarse country derived from request headers, and a randomly generated click identifier.
The identifier we pass to the merchant describes the page, not you: article, topic, channel and that random click id. It contains no name, email, account, device identifier or IP address, and it cannot be resolved back to a person by us or by the merchant.
Once you arrive on the merchant’s site you are subject to their privacy policy, and they will typically set their own cookies. We have no control over and no visibility into that.
When a sale is reported back
The merchant or network tells us that an order occurred, with the order reference and the commission. That message is verified as genuine and matched to the click identifier so we know which article earned it. We do not receive, and do not want, the buyer’s identity, address, or what else was in the basket.
Server logs and retention
Ordinary web server logs exist for security and debugging and are kept only as long as they are useful for those purposes. Click and conversion records are kept because they are how commission is attributed and audited; they describe pages and orders, not people.
