Corrections and takedowns
An automated publication gets things wrong differently from a human one: rarely, but identically across every page sharing the fault. So the response has to be quick and it has to be visible.
What we correct, and how fast
- A wrong price
- Same day. The figure comes down immediately and returns only once a fresh capture supports it.
- A wrong fact
- Same day. If the claim cannot be re-sourced, it is removed rather than rephrased.
- A missing or wrong credit
- Same day, and the outlet is told once it is fixed.
- A stale recommendation
- Within 48 hours of the evidence behind it changing, or the page is withdrawn.
- A page that should never have run
- Withdrawn on sight, with the reason recorded.
How a correction is shown
The page keeps its address — we do not delete and repost, because that hides the history. The reviewed date changes, the corrected figure carries its new capture time, and where the substance of a claim changed, the page says what it previously said.
Where a page is withdrawn entirely, its links are deactivated at the same moment, so a withdrawn recommendation cannot keep earning.
Reporting something
Write to [email protected]. Include the page address and, if you can, what the correct figure or fact is. You do not need to explain who you are or why you care.
Publishers asking us to stop reading their feed, and merchants disputing how a price or a programme term has been represented, are handled on the same clock.
We would rather hear about it from you than leave it standing. No report is too small, and we do not argue about whether an error was material.
