Torrential rain inundates roads across central Ho Chi Minh City

The Southern Regional Hydro-Meteorological Station said thunderstorms initially developed and moved from east-northeast to west-southwest, bringing showers, thunderstorms, and lightning to several areas before expanding to other parts of central Ho Chi Minh City. Rainfall ranged from 5 to 20 mm, with some areas receiving more than 50 mm, causing localized flooding. By 5:45 pm, many roads across the city were severely flooded.

Phan Huy Ich Street in Tan Son Ward was also heavily flooded, leaving commuters struggling to get home after the downpour. At around 6:00 pm, Phan Huy Ich Street remained waterlogged, with traffic moving slowly through the inundated section.
