Rescued by the Fairy with Azure Hair, Pinocchio tries to hide his foolishness, only for his nose to stretch with every lie he utters. Sent to bury his gold coins at the Field of Wonders, he is robbed by the Fox and Cat, then absurdly jailed by a Gorilla magistrate. Upon release, his stubbornness leads him into a farmer's steel trap, forcing him to serve as a watchdog. Falsehood carries visible shame, while seeking easy shortcuts brings confinement.

Moral progress requires sustained effort against peer temptation

Reaching the Island of Busy Bees, Pinocchio finds a society where idleness is condemned and survival requires labor. Reunited with the Fairy, he vows to abandon trickery, attend school, and earn transformation into a real human boy. His academic success wins praise, yet bad company lures him away from class to search for a phantom sea monster on the shore. A brawl among schoolmates leaves a boy injured, proving how fragile personal reform remains under bad influence.

CHAPTER 24 → CHAPTER 29

Total freedom from discipline transforms the seeker into a beast

On the eve of becoming a real boy, Pinocchio abandons his celebration to follow his friend Lamp-Wick to the Land of Toys. In this town of constant play and absent teachers, five months pass in continuous entertainment without effort or duty. The hidden cost of total indulgence reveals itself when Pinocchio wakes to find long fuzzy donkey ears sprouting from his head. Rejecting responsibility strips away dignity, reducing reckless youth to beasts of burden.

CHAPTER 30 → CHAPTER 33

Devoted sacrifice and honest labor complete the human transformation

Thrown into the ocean as a disabled donkey, Pinocchio escapes when fish consume his outer hide, only to be swallowed by the Terrible Shark. Deep inside the sea monster, he finds Geppetto living in darkness and bravely carries his father out into the open sea. A helpful Tunny fish guides them to shore, where Pinocchio works tirelessly on a farm to support Geppetto and the sick Fairy. Unselfish devotion and hard work finally earn him real boyhood.
