Two Hyderabad lakes are set for a makeover with new footpaths, roads, street lighting and ornamental illumination planned around Sunnam Cheruvu and Tammidi Kunta ahead of their proposed inauguration by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy.

At Sunnam Cheruvu, the works include extending the central median up to the existing culvert and extending the footpath from the lake to the culvert. The civic agencies have also proposed ornamental illumination and street lighting around the lake. Improved road connectivity to the lake is another component of the works, with a road link proposed between Parvath Nagar and Sunnam Cheruvu.

At Tammidi Kunta, officials reviewed plans to provide

At Tammidi Kunta, officials reviewed plans to provide footpath connectivity from the back entrance of the lake to the AC Bus Stop. Ornamental illumination is also proposed around the water body. Road connectivity to Sindhu Hospital is among the other works identified at Tammidi Kunta. Officials have also proposed constructing a retaining wall along the existing outlet drain from Tammidi Kunta towards Smiline Dental.
