Part 1

Romeo scales the Capulet orchard wall to exchange vows with Juliet, prompting Friar Lawrence to conduct a hasty wedding in hopes of ending the family feud. The triumph vanishes hours later when Tybalt slays Mercutio, driving Romeo to murder Tybalt in blind revenge. Banished by the Prince to Mantua, Romeo spends one final night with his bride before fleeing. Capulet then abruptly demands Juliet marry Count Paris, trapping her between bigamy and desperation.

Part 2

Destructive haste and intercepted messages turn secret desperate plans into death.

Friar Lawrence gives Juliet a sleeping potion to fake her death, but plague quarantine stops Friar John from delivering the secret plan to Romeo. Believing Juliet truly dead, Romeo buys illegal poison from a starveling apothecary and kills Paris outside the Capulet vault. Romeo drinks the potion just before Juliet awakens, driving her to turn his dagger upon herself. Their united corpses finally force Lord Capulet and Montague to end their feud.
