God wraps around the soul just as clothing enfolds the physical body for warmth and protection. Grounding oneself in material possessions or temporary status distracts from this true shelter. True rest arrives only when the soul discards attachments to lesser things and rests entirely in the creator.
Prayer achieves its power not through human eloquence or merit, but because God is the essential goodness underlying every request. Approaching intermediaries or rituals without recognizing this core truth mistakes the means for the source. God desires to be the direct destination of every longing heart.
