Spots 
Conan the Cimmerian climbs a sheer palisade of quartz-studded stone rising high above the dense Kushite jungle. Near the summit, he discovers a tiny cave containing a withered mummy holding a yellowed parchment scroll. Taking the scroll, he pulls himself over the rim into a vast natural amphitheater containing the overgrown marble domes of Alkmeenon. His sole aim is recovering the legendary hoard known as the Teeth of Gwahlur.
Part 1
In the royal city of Keshia, the dusky nobility claims descent from the ancient white rulers of Alkmeenon. Conan offers to train and command the kingdom's armies against rival Punt as a pretext to search for the legendary jewels. The sudden arrival of Stygian adventurer Thutmekri with Zargheba complicates his plans with a lucrative alliance offer. High priest Gorulga decrees that the ancient oracle of Princess Yelaya must be consulted before any decision is reached.
Part 2
Rushing ahead of the Keshani priesthood, Conan reaches the forbidden cliffs of Alkmeenon after a hard ride. He descends the broken inner cliffs into the silent, untouched bowl where forgotten courts once reigned. Cracks in the overgrown marble avenues reveal an ancient civilization swallowed by invading jungle foliage. Guided by gleaming domes, he cautiously approaches the massive pillared portico of the royal palace.
Part 3
Traversing colossal bronze doors, Conan enters an octagonal audience hall dominated by a massive lapis-lazuli step throne. A side door of carven gold leads him into a small, gold-ceiled sanctuary containing an ivory dais. Upon the dais lies the unblemished, perfectly preserved body of Princess Yelaya, clothed in jeweled silk and gold breastplates. The miraculous preservation of both flesh and fabric stirs a deep uneasiness within the Cimmerian warrior.
Part 4
Knowing Thutmekri intends to betray Zembabwei and plunder Keshan, Conan seeks the hidden treasure before the Stygian acts. A search of the alcove behind the throne reveals a concealed wall panel filled with tiny acoustic holes. This hidden listening alcove proves that the famous oracle of Yelaya was merely a trick staged by mortal priestcraft. Conan then unrolls the ancient scroll taken from the mummy, recognizing archaic Pelishtim script signed by Bît-Yakin.
Part 5
Bît-Yakin's scroll reveals that he dwelt in Alkmeenon centuries ago and directed his servants to place his corpse in the cliff cavern upon his death. As Conan ponders the mystery, a booming gold gong shatters the quiet palace halls. Charging toward the sound with drawn steel, Conan stumbles onto weakened marble floorboards near the gong. The flags collapse beneath his feet, dropping him into a roaring subterranean river of pitch-black water.
Part 6
Battling the rushing underground current, Conan grips a submerged bronze ladder rung and pulls himself onto a narrow stone ledge. He climbs through a broken section of vaulting into a dilapidated upper chamber of the palace. Realizing someone deliberately sounded the gong to trap him, he determines to move cautiously. He returns toward the throne room, resolving to hide until the priests arrive and lead him directly to the treasure.
Part 7
Returning to the oracle shrine, Conan discovers the sleeping body of Princess Yelaya suddenly breathing with warm blood and rose-tinted lips. The figure rises and commands him to depart, claiming to be an immortal goddess bound by ancient curses. Unmoved by her supernatural warnings, Conan seizes her and exposes the impostor as Muriela, Zargheba's Corinthian dancing girl. A distinct crescent birthmark on her hip betrays her earthly origin.
Part 8
Weeping in terror, Muriela confesses that Zargheba forced her to act as the voice of the oracle. She fears both the retribution of heathen gods and the wrath of her cruel master. Trapped in a web of international intrigue, the dancer begs Conan for protection against Zargheba. Conan realizes Zargheba planned to use the oracle to manipulate the Keshani priests into surrendering the treasure and executing him.
Part 9
Muriela reveals that Zargheba learned of a submerged cavern entrance under a southern pool from the treacherous priest Gwarunga. After entering the palace, Zargheba stripped the real body of Yelaya and dressed Muriela in the sacred garments. She was instructed to command the priests to give the Teeth of Gwahlur to Thutmekri and skin Conan alive. Conan realizes high priest Gorulga is genuinely devout and entirely ignorant of Thutmekri's elaborate fraud.
Part 10
Conan devises a counter-strategy, promising to protect Muriela if she obeys his exact instructions during the coming ritual. He orders her to command the priests to banish the Stygians and entrust the Teeth of Gwahlur to General Conan. Re-dressing her hair and replacing her gem, he notes her uncanny physical resemblance to the dead princess. He then leaves the oracle room to locate and eliminate Zargheba in the surrounding forest.
Part 11
Shadowing the overgrown southern avenue, Conan stalks quietly toward the dark lotus grove where Zargheba lurks. Spotting a motionless pale face among the leaves, he glides closer only to discover a horrifying sight. Zargheba's severed head hangs suspended from a tree branch by its own long black hair above trampled, blood-stained grass. Realizing Bît-Yakin's ancient non-human servants still roam the valley, Conan rushes back to safeguard Muriela.
Part 12
Returning to the palace, Conan sees Gorulga and his black acolytes ascending the marble steps carrying flickering torches. He slips inside behind them, ducking into the secret panel alcove just as the priesthood enters the oracle chamber. Gorulga chants an ancient invocation before asking the goddess for guidance regarding the Stygian alliance. Hidden in the wall niche, Conan watches Muriela prepare to deliver the altered prophecy.
Part 13
Speaking as Yelaya, Muriela commands the Keshani priests to drive out the Stygians and give the Teeth of Gwahlur to Conan. Awestruck by the deity's voice, Gorulga and his followers depart to retrieve the hidden treasure. However, the rogue priest Gwarunga remains behind in the palace, furiously grabbing Muriela for betraying Thutmekri's original plan. He throttles her, threatening to twist off her head for her insolence.
Part 14
Conan leaps from the alcove and strikes down Gwarunga with a crushing sword blow to the scalp. After sending Muriela back into the oracle chamber to retrieve her fallen head-gem, Conan drags the unconscious priest away. He prepares to execute Gwarunga, knowing mercy has no place in wild lands. Before he can land the killing blow, a blood-curdling shriek echoes from the inner sanctuary.
Part 15
Conan rushes into the oracle room to find Muriela gone and the original body of Yelaya mysteriously restored to the dais. Finding a scrap of Muriela's skirt caught in a secret marble panel, he opens a hidden stairway leading into the dark depths. Frescoes along the corridor depict Pelishtim philosopher Bît-Yakin commanding strange ape-like beast-servants drawn from subterranean waters. Conan realizes Bît-Yakin's immortal servants still haunt the palace and have captured Muriela.
Part 16
Pursuing Muriela's captors through pitch darkness, Conan encounters a massive carved metal door that resists his full strength. A heavy stone block drops from the ceiling, nearly crushing him before he leaps backward in time. Trapped when the entrance panel seals behind him, Conan unfastens a metal bolt and bursts back into the empty oracle chamber. He finds both Yelaya's body and Gwarunga's wounded form missing without a trace.
Part 17
Deciding his best chance of finding Muriela and the treasure is following the priests, Conan tracks their footprints out of the palace. The trail leads across blooming shrubbery to a massive carved rock bluff featuring a dragon-mouthed bronze entrance. Knowing the door may lock behind him, Conan recklessly steps into the cavernous passage. Inside, phosphorescent cave walls illuminate distant torches and the chanting of the Keshani priesthood.
Part 18
Conan stalks the priests through sprawling cavernous chambers filled with repulsive toad-like idols and carven stone stairs. Gorulga and his acolytes repeatedly bow and chant before horrific gods, delaying their descent to the inner crypt. Conan glides through shadow ledges above them, waiting for an opportunity to claim the treasure. The vast subterranean galleries stretch high into absolute darkness.
Part 19
A blinding blue glare suddenly erupts near the cavern roof as a booming voice echoes from high balcony ledges. The voice commands the priests to disregard previous instructions, give the Teeth to Thutmekri, and skin Conan alive. Conan climbs the stone stairs and discovers Gwarunga's body standing over Yelaya's bound corpse, using Stygian fire-powder to fake the goddess. Conan instantly slays Gwarunga, ending his deceitful broadcast.
Part 20
Following a glowing phosphorescent tunnel, Conan enters a rock chamber containing gold arabesques and a brass idol of Pteor. Sprawled in the lap of the obscene deity, Muriela lies weeping and bound by golden chains. Conan cuts her free and explains that Bît-Yakin's gray ape-servants captured her and placed her here. He leads her toward a distant stone bridge spanning an underground chasm.
Part 21
Conan and Muriela step onto a natural stone arch soaring high over a turbulent subterranean river glowing with iridescence. From the dizzying height, Conan spots a small cliff opening opposite them through which night stars twinkle. Below, the muttering waters churn through the dark cavern floor toward unseen depths. Holding Muriela tightly, Conan prepares to navigate the high narrow span to freedom.
Part 22
Below the bridge, Gorulga opens a stone altar crypt and unleashes the blazing icy radiance of the Teeth of Gwahlur. As the priests marvel at the jewels, Bît-Yakin's gray ape-monsters emerge from the shadows in a violent ambush. The beasts brutally slaughter Gorulga and his acolytes, tearing them apart on the blood-soaked cavern floor. Horrified by the massacre, Muriela clings to Conan as the creatures pursue a fleeing survivor.
Part 23
Seizing his chance, Conan drops to the cavern floor, snatches the chest of jewels, and rescues Muriela. On the stone arch above the subterranean river, a grey beast blocks their exit, leading to a swift duel. Conan strikes the monster and hurls it into the dark waters below, escaping out the cliff wall into the star-lit jungle. Though the adventure cost him much, his quick wits secure both freedom and legendary wealth.
