Tractat vom Steppenwolf

The pamphlet handed to Haller in the street defines the Steppenwolf as a creature trapped between man and beast, incapable of finding rest in ordinary society. Human personality is not a simple duality of wolf and man, but a fluid kaleidoscope of endless souls. Treating the self as a single rigid identity breeds despair, whereas accepting its infinite nature unlocks true spiritual freedom.

Das Magische Theater

Hermine introduces Haller to jazz musician Pablo and dancer Maria, teaching him to dance, laugh, and embrace sensory life. At the Magic Theater, Haller enters a surreal mirror corridor of infinite doors where he faces his inner selves, guided by Mozart and Pablo. True enlightenment requires surrendering intellectual solemnity to laugh at the cosmic play of existence.
