Thought and Character

A person is literally what they think, their character being the complete sum of all their thoughts. As a plant springs from a hidden seed, every action springs from hidden seeds of thought and reveals itself in joy or suffering. Noble character is not a matter of chance, but the natural result of continued right thinking.

Effect of Thought on Circumstances

The human mind resembles a garden that may be intelligently cultivated or allowed to run wild. Circumstances do not make a person; they reveal that person to themselves. Outer conditions align with inner states, drawing precisely what a mind secretly harbors, whether base desires or noble aspirations.

Effect of Thought on Health and the Body

The body is the servant of the mind, obeying its operations whether deliberate or automatic. Disease and physical strength are deeply rooted in thought: sickly thoughts express themselves through a frail body, while clean thoughts build vitality. Changing one's diet will not help a person who refuses to alter their thoughts.

Thought and Purpose

Until thought is linked with purpose, there is no intelligent accomplishment. Aimlessness leads straight to drifting, anxiety, and weakness. A person must conceive of a legitimate purpose in their heart and set out to accomplish it, making this central object the governing duty of life.

The Thought-Factor in Achievement

All that a person achieves or fails to achieve is the direct result of their own thoughts. A person can only rise, conquer, and achieve by lifting up their thoughts. Sacrifice is the price of achievement; to achieve greatly, one must sacrifice animalistic desires and concentrate the mind on disciplined purpose.

Visions and Ideals

The dreamers are the saviors of the world. Cherish noble visions, cherish ideals, and honor the music that stirs in an unexpressed heart. To desire is to obtain, and to aspire is to achieve; the highest vision becomes the blueprint of tomorrow's reality.

Serenity

Calmness of mind is one of the beautiful jewels of wisdom. It is the result of long and patient effort in self-control. A calm person, having learned how to govern themselves, knows how to adapt to others. Serenity is ultimate power.
